We're open Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm and Saturdays from 9am - 12pm.
What’s the best thread for quilting?
The best thread for quilting is the thread that looks good to you and doesn’t detract from the pupose of the quilt.
That means if the quilt is for a baby throw rug that will be washed very regularly for example, a good quality polyester thread would be advisable.
If you want your thread to disappear, use our InvisaFil.
Traditional quilting would be done with a cotton thread.
Do you do machine servicing?
Yes, we do servicing of all brands of sewing machines, overlockers and embroidery machines.
We guarentee our work.
You won’t get a shock at the checkout either.

How do I book a class?
Booking a class is as simple as clicking on the book this class.

Do you sell sewing books?
Sorry but with the advent of YouTube, there are very few good sewing books.
We recomend trying your local library for the printed product.
Where can I park?
At Sewing Solutions parking is easy. We have a number of spaces at street level on Sturt Road but if that is full, try at the rear of our shop.
There is a lane next to the bookshop and this goes to a carpark at the rear of the buildings.
My machine is jamming up around the bobbin
Remove the jammed up thread and then rethread your top thread.
Most of the problems that occur on the underside of your sewing are caused by an issue with your top thread.
